Every year, Olympiads in Maths, Science, Computer Science, and General Knowledge are held by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). Our school takes part in the Olympiads with great enthusiasm. Almost 200 students took the Olympiad tests this year.
Mstr Naboth Mephibosh, Mstr Koushick K, Mstr Althea Marian Noronho, Ms. Dhanyashree B, and Ms Mariya Dhancika J V all took home gold awards from IEO. With her gold medal, Ms. Ishara Teresa Kujur of grade three advanced to the next round.
In the month of August, 2023 our school organised the NFED Drawing Competition centered on Independent India, which featured the following themes: Vision India: Social Challenges, Mission India 2030, and National Symbols of India.
For classes 3 to 5 category, the following students received awards with the theme National Symbols of India, Mstr. Jaslin Leo took first prize, Ms. Janani came in second, and Ms. A Divya took third. Similarly, with the theme “Mission India 2030,” Ms. Kanishka, Ms. Tanushree, and Ms. Vishnupriya took first, second, and third place respectively in the classes 6–8 category. The theme for the higher classes was “Vision India: Social Challenges,” and the top three finishers were Ms. Purnima, Ms. Raja Priya, and Ms. Kamali.
Writing by hand improves our ability to read and understand language. Writing by hand allows the writer to take their time, slow down their thinking process, and consider their word choice, spelling, and writing style—all of which help them become more proficient with the language they use. In light of the significance of handwriting, News7, and Brain O Brain, an abacus course integrated with NLP, held a state-level handwriting competition in our school. In each category, there were ten to fifteen Level 1 winners. The winners advanced to the regional level, and the top finishers advanced to the state level.
Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology organized the national-level Online Space Quiz. Our Higher Secondary students Ms. Brindha, Mstr. Sri Hari C K, and Ms. Pavithra M A were selected for an exceptional reward, a visit to ISRO, and to witness the next ISRO satellite launch.
